Covid19 Policy

At Active Building Inspections (ABI) we advocate for safety. This is why we now require both staff and clients to follow important health directions. As part of your inspection, it is important to understand your obligations to protect our staff and clients from Covid19.

  • We kindly ask that clients  disclose any occupants in the premises that are currently in isolation, are close contacts of positive cases, have tested positive for Covid-19 and are still unwell, or are pending test results.
  • We kindly ask that if you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, or have been in contact with someone who is ill, to not attend the inspection. The building inspector can call you to discuss the inspection either before or after the report has been written.
  • We kindly ask that a 1.5 meter distance be maintained between persons and ABI staff at all times.
  • In any case that someone has been a close contact with a positive case, Active Building Inspections reserves the right to postpone the inspection. We will work hard to ensure we can reinspect the property as soon as possible.

Active Building Inspections has its own internal staff policy which is based on Government advice, utilising information from Safe Work Australia, Queensland Health, Australian Health Protection Principal Committee and more. Your inspector will follow key protocols to help stop the spread of Covid-19 and help protect you and your family. These include, but are not limited to:

  • All ABI employees to follow strict hand washing and sanitizing procedures, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitized vehicle and equipment.
  • Your inspector will wear a mask at all times when in doors where required.
  • ABI employees that visit client homes are required to perform a weekly Rapid Antigen Tests (where they are available).
  • ABI employees are required to check in at all visited locations, where QR codes are available.
  • ABI employees must practice social distancing at all times and any other health directive from the federal and state government health officials.
  • ABI Office staff are now working from home to prevent unnecessary interactions.
  • You will receive your agreement, report and any other communications online or over the phone.
  • All payments to be via credit/debit card or bank transfer. No cash or cheque payments will be accepted unless in dire circumstance.
  • Please note that all ABI staff are double vaccinated.
